Accessibility statement.

Our commitment

Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) is committed to making the Pennsylvania Digital Trust Hub website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. We aim for the site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, consistent with AIU’s standard that all digital content be accessible.

What we’ve done

• Every page is built with semantic HTML: real headings, landmarks, lists, tables and form labels.
• Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator, and a “Skip to content” link on every page.
• Text and interface colors meet WCAG AA contrast ratios, including text over gradients.
• Pages reflow to a single column on small screens and at up to 400% zoom without sideways scrolling.
• Animation respects your device’s “reduce motion” setting, and nothing moves on its own in a way you can’t stop. The headline sliders change only when you choose.
• Interactive parts, such as the menu, search, sliders and pricing calculator, announce their state to screen readers.
• The site works without JavaScript for reading content and following links.

How we test

Every update is checked automatically before it is published. The check tests each page at desktop and phone widths for WCAG 2.1 A and AA issues with the axe-core engine, for horizontal scrolling, and for keyboard focus on every interactive element. Updates that fail are not published.

We also test by hand, including at 400% browser zoom and with the VoiceOver screen reader on macOS.

Known limitations

• Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form is provided by Google. If you have trouble completing it, email DTHinfo@aiu3.net instead and we will respond the same way.
• Embedded video on one news article is hosted on YouTube, and its captions and player controls are provided by YouTube.
• Linked websites, such as event registration on Microsoft Teams and partner sites, are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
• The statewide district map is a visual aid. Its information about membership and reach is also given in text on the same page.
