Artificial intelligence now helps people write, learn and even chat with virtual assistants. Scammers use it too. That's why the National Cybersecurity Alliance created AI Fools Week (March 31 to April 4, 2025), an awareness campaign on AI security and privacy.
The risks are real. AI-generated phishing emails and deepfakes look more convincing than ever, and the National Cybersecurity Alliance's 2024 Oh Behave survey found that 38% of users had shared sensitive work information with AI tools without their employer's knowledge.
Drawing on the Alliance's content, the Digital Trust Hub gave members a weeklong series of ready-to-share staff articles:
- AI and data privacy
- AI and phishing
- AI and voice scams
- AI and deepfakes
- A "Spot the Scam" quiz to close the week
Members also received a short guide to call-filtering tools that help screen out scam calls. Districts could use some, all or none of the series.
