Data privacy is a growing concern. According to the Pew Research Center’s 2023 report How Americans View Data Privacy, 81% of U.S. adults are very or somewhat concerned about how companies use the data they collect about them. Data Privacy Week (January 26–30, 2026) and Data Privacy Day (January 28) gave districts a natural moment to raise awareness among staff, personally and professionally.
The Digital Trust Hub gave members a complete, ready-made campaign:
- Overview presentation materials on data privacy, with a one-page summary
- A week of short daily staff emails, each paired with a matching flyer on a practical privacy topic
- Background articles from the National Cybersecurity Alliance for staff who want more depth
Districts could send the daily emails as written or adapt them. Members also kept access to the previous year’s Data Privacy Week materials.
Also in January, members received the National Cybersecurity Alliance’s 2026 cybersecurity predictions: a short read with talking points for districts making the case for cybersecurity professional learning.
