Love Data Week (February 9–13, 2026) usually focuses on how researchers use data. The Digital Trust Hub used it as a light-touch way to reinforce data hygiene and data governance in schools. The goal was to turn good data handling into everyday habits that reduce risk, without adding work to anyone’s plate.
Members received five themed mini-campaigns, covering:
- why protecting data means protecting people
- storing and cleaning up data
- sharing data wisely, with the right access
- using data well, with versions for teachers and for staff
- keeping only the data you need, and deleting the rest
Each theme includes a short email districts can forward or adapt, and a one-page flyer with a quick "try this today" activity that takes only a few minutes. A ready-made newsletter entry pulls the week together in one place.
A little data cleanup now beats a lot of data cleanup later.
