February brings two technology-focused days: Safer Internet Day on February 11, 2025, and Digital Learning Day on February 13. Together they are a chance to promote digital citizenship, cybersecurity awareness and innovative learning in schools.
For Safer Internet Day, whose 2025 theme was "Together for a Better Internet," the Digital Trust Hub pointed members to free resources:
- ConnectSafely's lessons for elementary, middle and high school, and materials for parents, across six topics including generative AI, civility and media literacy
- Resources from the National PTA, a Safer Internet Day supporter, and lesson plans from the UK Safer Internet Centre, including activities for early learners
The lessons can also support the internet safety instruction that E-Rate participation requires.
For Digital Learning Day, members received the Pennsylvania Department of Education's guidance on participating, to share with curriculum teams and educators.
