Allegheny Intermediate Unit has partnered with 1EdTech Consortium to make it easier for educators to find high-quality, secure and trusted educational technology, without adding to the workload of already stretched district technology departments.
The partnership brings 46 members of AIU’s Allegheny Connect consortium into the 1EdTech community: 42 AIU member districts, three career and technical centers, and the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children. It was the first step toward the statewide Digital Trust Hub membership that includes 1EdTech affiliate membership today.
What TAMS gives schools
The initial cohort gained access to 1EdTech’s TrustEd Apps Management Suite (TAMS). With it, leaders can:
- Sort through thousands of educational apps and tools their teachers want to use
- Quickly see whether a tool meets their interoperability, data privacy and accessibility needs
- Decide when a deeper conversation with the supplier is needed
- Curate their own list of approved apps that educators can easily find, review and select for their classrooms
At the time of the announcement, TAMS was in use by more than 600 districts and higher education institutions across the country.
